Child Protection Policy

Elstree Lawn Tennis Club aims to create a friendly environment for all juniors who wish to take part in tennis and social activities at the Club.
The Club aims to ensure that young people at the Club's premises are safe, secure and free from threat.
The Club acknowledges that young people have the right to be treated with respect and for their concerns to be listened to and acted upon.
The Club will ensure that junior members have specific programmes and facilities designated for them, with adequate supervision.
The Club has appointed Welfare Officer Bridget Shaw as Child Protection Officer.
The Club will ensure that all coaches hold the appropriate coaching Licences and are CRB checked.
The Club will ensure that any Club members and volunteers working with young people are aware of and apply the LTA Code of Conduct for Those Working with Children in Tennis.


Junior Programme

 Coaching Sessions

Our Summer coaching sessions and All Year Round tennis camps (in school holidays) are suitable for juniors aged 6-16 years old. The courses aim to introduce players to all the aspects of the game from hitting techniques through to scoring. Please contact our club coach for more details.



Easter Camps 2017

Date: April 3rd-7th

Time: 9:30-12pm

Age:    6+


Learning basics & techniques, games, matches, access to club facilities table tennis, table football, T.V.

Drinks during break will be provided, fruit squash or water

Club member: £14 per day (£60 week)

Non member: £16 per day ( £70 week)

Discount for siblings.

Regular Coaching

The Club offers the opportunity for 5 – 13 year olds to play tennis in our Mini Tennis coaching programme as follows:


Winter Program

9.00am - 10.00am: Mini Orange U11s (Coach: Janmeet)
10.00am - 11.00am: Teens (Coach: Janmeet)

11.00am - noon; 10-12 year olds Coach: Janmeet)

Please note:
Young players must come appropriately dressed for the weather conditions. Any child inappropriately dressed will be asked to stay in the Clubhouse in order to avoid injury/illness. It is most important that players always bring a drink with them.

Parents should escort young players to the courtside at the start of each session and collect them from courtside at the end of each session. Coaches can only be responsible for juniors for the duration of the coaching session.

Group Coaching Sessions

Our coaches provide group coaching sessions for juniors. Suitable for juniors aged 6-12 years old, the courses aim to introduce players to all the aspects of the game from hitting techniques through to scoring.

Junior Social Tennis

Juniors are welcome at the Club for supervised sessions on:

Sundays 1.30pm - 3.30pm
These sessions give young players the chance to meet other junior members and are supervised by Janmeet. As these sessions are only just now being reintroduced, please contact Janmeet on 07989 646 469 to ensure that they have been scheduled before arriving at the club.

The sessions are £6.00 for junior members and £7.00 for non-members / guests.

Very young players are also free to play at other times with the supervision of a parent or guardian (outside of the scheduled coaching and adult social sessions). In all cases the supervising party must ensure that the clubhouse and all gates are locked before leaving the premises.
