About Us

We take pride in being one of the best value tennis clubs in the area, fostering a vibrant village community. Elstree features a comprehensive schedule of events, both social and tennis-focused, warmly welcoming new members of all ages. Our club currently fields two teams in the Watford & District League, participates in the Kenton Winter League, and competes in the Hertfordshire Hot Rackets (summer) League, offering Men's, Women's, and Mixed doubles matches. Whether you're a junior, student, or adult eager to learn tennis, a 'rusty' player returning to the game, or experienced player seeking a new club, this site provides information on our facilities and membership. We host Social Tennis sessions three times a week, creating a friendly environment for members to play together, while our various Whatsapp groups connect like-minded individuals for arranging games to fit your skill level and schedule.

Coaching

Elstree is proud to host a portfolio of qualified coaches who bring decades of professional coaching experience to our club. Coaching sessions are planned with capacity and demand in mind. We are excited about our new schedule being launched in September, offering a full program of junior coaching throughout the whole week, including after school, which is made possible because all of our courts are floodlit. 

Our coaching team are available for group sessions and private lessons. Please note that they are not employed by the club and decide their own fees and activity types.

You do not need to be a member to take part in organised coaching by one of our named club coaches.

Non-members do not need to pay a guest/visitor fee to have coaching by our named coaches, but you will need to pay a visitor/guest fee to play with a hitting partner.

Membership

Our Tennis year runs from May 1st. Rates will be charged on a pro rata basis for new members joining later in the year. Please contact the membership secretary for the latest costs before submitting the application forms and transferring any funds.

All members are expected to read and abide by the club rules.

Our Membership rates are:

• Full Adult membership £250

• Student Membership £80 (must be able to show that you are in full-time education and are aged 17-24 years)

• Junior Membership (16 years and under) £50

• Social Member (non-playing member) £20

• Children under 5 years old are not currently eligible for membership, but may access and play at the club for no charge.
