£220 per year (1/05/24 - 30/04/25).
No joining fee. No hidden costs. Includes free use of ball machines, tennis balls and floodlights. 6 courts resurfaced with TigerTurf in 2022.
Elstree Lawn Tennis Club is a very friendly, social club with a relaxed atmosphere. We welcome players of all age groups and abilities.
WELCOME!
We are probably the best value tennis club in the area, and pride ourselves with being a thriving village community. Elstree offers a full programme of events, both social and tennis related, and new members of all ages are always welcome. We currently run two teams in the Watford & District League, play in the Kenton Winter League and also compete in the Hertfordshire Hot Rackets (summer) League. There are Men's, Women's and Mixed doubles matches.
Whether you are a junior, student or adult wanting to learn how to play tennis, a 'rusty' player or an experienced player looking for a new club, this site provides details about our facilities and how to join. Social Tennis sessions provide a nice environment to play with other members 4 times a week and our numerous Whatsapp groups provide a directory of like-minded members to arrange games to suit your ability and timetable.

Adult coaching
Dimi runs a lively session every Wednesday evening from 7 - 8.30pm. This is open to members and non-members. A contact number can be found on our Coaching Page. Please get in touch with Dimi for further details if you are interested in coming along.

QUIZ
£500 was raised from our annual quiz expertly delivered by Robert. Proceeds will be donated to the Noah's Ark Children's Hospice in Barnet. Many thanks to everyone who participated, organised and donated.

Court availability
In order to be most successful in securing a court at any time, please arrange your private games throughout the day where possible. Members cannot book courts.

Balls
Please note that Wilson club balls should be returned to the clubhouse after play and emptied into the white basket in the hallway. These are free to use at the club and should not be taken home or kept solely for your own personal use. They remain the property of the club at all times.

PLEASE DO NOT USE "V" BALLS FROM BALL MACHINE BASKETS FOR SOCIAL OR PRIVATE GAMES.

To ensure that you have a decent set of balls to play your games, we recommend that you always carry your own tube for when club balls have gone "missing" or have suffered from wet weather.

Floodlights
​As everyone is aware, the costs for electricity are eye-watering. At the moment we are keeping floodlight usage free to members. Understandably, this might have to change at some stage in the future. If it does, we will of course inform you. In the meantime, please turn off the floodlights as soon as you have finished your game. Please do not leave this for someone else to do later.

The floods are on a timer and will switch off at 10pm. However, the user is still responsible for turning off the switch in the clubhouse. Failure to do so will mean that the lights will come back in at 4pm the following day and could run for another 6 hrs if no one is present to turn them off.

​​CAN ALL MEMBERS PLEASE CLEAR YOUR RUBBISH FROM THE COURTS WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED PLAYING. THIS INCLUDES BANANA SKINS!
PLEASE ALSO ENSURE THAT ALL THE GATES ARE LOCKED - ESPECIALLY THE MAIN GATE. SECURITY IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY.
DON'T FORGET TO WASH UP ANYTHING YOU USE IN THE CLUBHOUSE TOO.

Membership
Our Tennis year runs from May 1st. Rates will be charged on a pro rata basis for new members joining later in the year.
All members are expected to read and abide by the club rules.
​
Our coaching team are available for group sessions and private lessons. Please note that they are not employed by the club and decide their own fees and activity types.
You do not need to be a member to take part in organised coaching by one of our named club coaches.
Non-members do not need to pay a guest/visitor fee to have coaching by our named coaches, but you will need to pay a visitor/guest fee to play with a hitting partner.

Guests are permitted but a visitor fee must be paid in advance (£7 adults / £4 juniors / under 5's free) and the visitor's name and sponsor must be registered with Juliette prior to arrival at the club. Failure to follow this guidance may result in you being asked to leave. Please read the rules via the button below. Please note that any individual guest can only play on three occasions in a year regardless of whether they are guests of different members.
